MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS CONTINUES TO EXPAND ENERGY TEAM

Kieran Wilson appointed as Energy Underwriter

MAPFRE GLOBAL RISKS (MGR), the MAPFRE unit that specialises in providing comprehensive insurance solutions for multinationals, today (9 August 2017) announces the appointment of Kieran WIlson, as Energy Underwriter.

Kieran has been hired to underwrite Oil & Gas risks and service MGR’s growing energy portfolio. He will be based in London, MGR’s strategic base for international growth of its global risks business and will report to Andrew Malcolm, Senior Energy Underwriter.

A respected and energetic market professional, Kieran has expertise in the International OIl & Gas sectors, He previously worked between February 2016 – August 2017 at Argo Global Syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s as an Onshore Energy Underwriter. Prior to that he worked for 8 years at the now merged StarStone, Torus and Broadgate Syndicates at Lloyd’s.

Greg Harris, MGR UK Director, said: “Kieran’s hire is part of our ‘Specialty Lines’ strategy for London, developing international portfolios of business in specific sectors. He is an experienced Oil & Gas Underwriter with strong broker relationships and will assist Andrew Malcolm in continuing to build MGR’s energy account in London.

Kieran said, “I am delighted to be joining MGR, and I look forward to being part of this rapidly expanding, client-focused business with its strong focus on international growth, from the heart of the London insurance market.”

The energy sector is one of the key business sectors for MGR and developing an international proposition is key for the growth of the business. Growing this sector will support the continued growth and diversification of MGR’s UK portfolio.
