“At the forefront through specialization” was the motto of this productive meeting, the most important for the Major Risks business, organized by MAPFRE in the LATAM South region.
On November 30, the city of Bogotá held the second LATAM South Global Risks Workshop, where over 200 people, among them executives of large corporations, brokers, reinsurance companies, and Major Risks industry experts gathered to exchange views on the trends and challenges of the insurance industry and the needs of the insurance market in Latin America.
The event consisted of a number of discussion panels dealing with key topics for the region, including the Oil & Gas sector and Major Infrastructure Claims. Panels also discussed Reinsurance and Legal Security trends.
The program also included presentations of MAPFRE insurance solutions for the Renewable Energy and Cyber Risk sector and a keynote speech on “The Importance of Latin America in the World” given by Carlos Malamud, a researcher at the ELCANO Royal Institute and professor of American History.
The International Workshops that Global Risks has been holding bi-annually in Spain for 25 years constitute one of the most prestigious and important forums for the major risks industry as well as a global benchmark. The Global Risks Workshops that MAPFRE holds bi-annually in LATAM South, as well as in LATAM North and in Brazil, which just completed their second edition, are an event aimed at establishing the most important forum in all of Latin America for the global risks insurance industry.
