How is insurtech evolving in Latin America?

Insurtech companies put technology and innovation to use in the insurance industry. Our colleague Ángela Puga García recently published an article on MAPFRE about these companies in Latin America during 2023.

Here, we want to feature the article The status of Latin American insurtech in 2023, by Ángela Puga García on MAPFRE. The author contextualizes the current moment and gathers information contained in sources such as the Global Insurance Potential Index (GIP-MAPFRE) and the latest McKinsey report.

“Due to the current macroeconomic, political, and social context, global investment in startups has undergone a drastic reduction, with slower growth in nearly all regions. However, with regard to the status of insurtech in LATAM, this market has 470 insurtech companies. The region continues to grow, although growth is lower than in previous years.”

Check out the article The status of Latin American insurtech in 2023 and see in detail how insurance is growing in Latin America, the range of possibilities that is opening up, the growth and investment of insurtech, and the countries that are leading the region.
