The Spanish Association of Risk Management and Insurance (AGERS) celebrated its 40th Anniversary at a commemorative event on April 23 at the Villa Magna Hotel in Madrid, where it also successfully held its General Assembly.
AGERS’s 40-year celebration brought together more than 240 guests, distinguished members of the Risk Management and Insurance community, including executives, industry professionals, academics, and members of the FERMA Board, including its Chairwoman, Charlotte Hedemark. Bosco Francoy, María Teresa Queralt, José Antonio Ruibal, and Carlos Villanueva from MAPFRE Global Risks attended.
The 40th Anniversary of its founding (1984–2024) was celebrated as a milestone reflecting its ongoing commitment to excellence in risk management. The event was hosted in the garden at the Villa Magna Hotel and culminated in a special ceremony in which the members of the Board of Directors were recognized for their work.
In addition, Jaime Martínez Muñoz, General Manager of Economic and Industrial Advancement of the Community of Madrid, took part, sharing his vision for professionals in the industry. He also dedicated a few words to the activities and content AGERS creates as an association to promote and support Risk Management and Insurance in the business sector.
Meanwhile, the General Assembly was opened by Gonzalo Iturmendi, General Counsel of AGERS and Managing Partner of the law firm Bufete G. Iturmendi y Asociados, following the established agenda. Juan Carlos López Porcel, Chairman of AGERS and Risk and Insurance Manager at ArcelorMittal España, continued the meeting by highlighting the significant progress and evolution of the association over the last year. The AGERS 2023 Annual Activity Report was approved during the session.
