Gibralfaro Castle is an impressive fortress set atop a hill that dominates the city of Málaga. This historic castle is a visual testament to the region’s rich history, from the Muslim era to the Christian conquest.
Built in the 14th century by Yusuf I of Granada, the Castle is part of a defense complex including La Alcazaba, a military fortress connected by a fortified corridor known as the Coracha. Both structures were designed to protect the city from maritime and land attacks.
Gibralfaro Castle is characterized by its robust stone walls, watch towers and strategic location offering stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean, the city of Málaga and the surrounding mountains.
The remains of a mosque can also be admired inside, as well as architectural elements that reveal the evolution of the castle over the centuries.

The Automobile and Fashion Museum

The Automobile and Fashion Museum, located in the former building of the Málaga tobacco factory, is rooted in 19th century efforts to establish a tobacco factory in the city. Although the plans had been in place since then, construction of the Málaga Tobacco Factory did not become a reality until 1932. This milestone left its mark on the city’s industrial growth, which later changed focus toward tourism and culture.
The history of the museum is linked to the Magalhaes family, whose private collection of classic vehicles and vintage fashion found its home in Málaga. Opened September 16, 2010, the museum reflects the family’s passion for fashion and culture, fusing iconic vehicles with universal art and couture dresses.

The history of FYCMA is intertwined with Málaga’s ambition to be a dynamic, multifaceted hub, both in terms of culture and business.
FYCMA features state-of-the-art facilities, conference rooms equipped with the latest audiovisual technology and an exhibition area of over 215,000 ft2. Its versatile design and strategic location enable events of varying magnitudes and natures to be held.
